He was born on 24/10/1973 In his 8th year of age, starts painting his first portraits and landscapes on small wooden surfaces. In 1990 he starts his studies in a private school on DTP, Digital Design and Graphics. One year before he creates his musical band SEPTIC FLESH In 1991 he starts private lessons in the Art Workshop of N.Stefos on painting with the purpose to enter the Supreme University of Arts in Athens Two years later he entered position number 19th (10th in Thesaloniki) in Athens at the exams for the Supreme University of Arts and chooses to study in the Painting Workshop of Art professor D. Mitaras including also photography, scenery and lessons on Perspective of space in art The same year he signed a record deal for SEPTIC FLESH with the independent French label Holy Records In his first 3 years in the university he earns 3 scholarships and in the final exams of each year he receives excellent comments on his work by his professors His works of the first are consisted mostly of airbrush, acrylics and oil paintings On his 4th year he is focussed more on photography and digital processing through computer software (Photoshop, Painter) and mixed techniques. In 1997 he is working as a graphic designer in the music magazine RAZOR and after 6 months takes over as an art disigner at METAL HAMMER magazine. He is creating covers and artworks for famous metal/rock bands like ROTTING CHRIST, SEPTIC FLESH,HEAVEN SHALL BURN, CALIBAN, CHAOSTAR, NIGHTFALL, HORRIFIED and he is appointed as art director at the Greek record label BLACK LOTUS RECORDS. With his band SEPTIC FLESH is doing 2 European tours and the recordings of their latest albums are done at the famous FREDMAN studio in Sweden with Fredrik Nordstrom as a producer. In 2001 the magazine 揗ETRO?presents his art in an extensive article. In 2002 he is working closely with the well known special fx team, tha Alahouzos Brothers, for the designing and visualization of the new SEPTIC FLESH album, 揝umerian Daemons? TECHNIQUE He is using a mixed technique of painting and photography through digital processing. The primary target is to clarify the tension in the bio-transformed world of the contemporary society. He is usually using b/w Agfa Scala film of medium format for better quality. His style is realistic with intense doses of expressionism concerning the central object of his work although the background remains clear in shape and color. COMPOSITION AND CHARACTER Female nude is the core of his creation. Disfigured faces and bodies, free of moral and religious codes begging for transformation into a higher being. A hyper-reality made of nightmares and dark shadows of mankind? Violent and melancholic aesthetics resulting in a sweet romantic aroma. Extensive use of religious symbols taken from the Egyptian and Sumerian mythology. Images descending from the primal forces of metaphysical disorder? Inspiration tank: the human unconscious. A frightened, self-destructive being seeking redemption? This is the nightmarish an claustrophobic world of SETH, a plasmatic , alternative timespace where the main figures fight, scream, howl, pumping their power from the chaotic kingdom of the cosmic un-consciousness.
